About HazWreck
HazWreck is a Sydney-based, SafeWork NSW licensed Class B asbestos removal and demolition business. We remove bonded, non-friable asbestos to NSW Work Health & Safety Regulations — contained, removed by hand, double-wrapped and disposed of lawfully, with the paperwork that protects you.
From a single asbestos fence to a full commercial strip-out, you deal with one licensed, insured team that handles the Form 65, the EPA-licensed disposal and the disposal dockets — so a frightening, regulated problem is simply handled, properly.
Renovating or Demolishing?
Don’t risk disturbing asbestos — get it removed properly.
Asbestos is a naturally occurring fibrous mineral that was used in thousands of Australian building products until it was fully banned at the end of 2003. If your Sydney property was built or renovated before the late 1980s, there’s a real chance asbestos is still in it — and most of it is bonded (non-friable) asbestos cement, the type HazWreck is licensed to remove.
The most common places we find bonded asbestos across Sydney homes and sites:
Left undisturbed and in good condition, bonded asbestos is generally low-risk. The danger starts the moment it’s drilled, cut, broken or sanded — that’s when fibres become airborne. That’s also exactly when a renovation, a storm-damaged roof or a demolition turns a quiet material into a health and legal problem. If you’re not sure, don’t disturb it — book an assessment.
There are two regulated classes of asbestos work in NSW, and the difference matters for your job:
The vast majority of asbestos in Sydney homes is bonded, which is what we remove every day. If we identify friable material during an assessment or works, we’ll tell you straight away, stop work in that area, and advise the correct licensed path — we never cut corners or work outside our licence. Honest scope is part of how we protect you and your compliance record.
Every HazWreck removal follows the NSW Work Health and Safety Regulations from start to finish:
Asbestos removal is priced on the size of the job, access, the amount of material, and disposal requirements — so the honest answer is “it depends,” but here’s a realistic starting guide for Sydney:
All figures are indicative only and confirmed after a site inspection. What you’re paying for isn’t just labour — a properly compliant removal includes containment, EPA-licensed disposal (charged by the tonne), Form 65 notification where required, and the disposal dockets that prove the job was done lawfully. Cheap, undocumented asbestos work is the expensive option when it goes wrong. Every HazWreck quote is fixed and itemised, with no surprises.
In NSW, removing more than 10 square metres of bonded asbestos legally requires a licensed Class B asbestos removalist. Beyond the legal line, using a licensed team protects you three ways: your health (correct containment and controls), your wallet (no fines, no contaminated-site clean-up bills), and your paper trail (Form 65 and disposal dockets that satisfy councils, insurers and future buyers).
HazWreck is fully licensed (AD214755) and insured, Sydney-wide, and works to NSW WHS Regulations on every job — from a single fence to a full commercial strip-out. One accountable contractor, from inspection through to clearance.

What our clients say
“We used HazWreck for a commercial strip-out and demolition at our World Gym, carried out overnight while the gym stayed operational. The crew were professional, clean and completely unobtrusive — management and members didn’t even know they’d been there. They later handled an urgent asbestos and demolition job for us at a private school in Auburn at very short notice, in and out with zero fuss. Reliable, licensed and easy to deal with. Highly recommended.”
“I’ve used HazWreck across multiple projects — two full house demolitions in Auburn and Lidcombe, a commercial strip-out in Penrith, and ongoing site clean-ups. As a residential builder, having one contractor who can handle demolition, asbestos and site clearance under one roof saves me a huge amount of coordination and time. Baris and the team are professional, reliable and always hand the site back clean and ready to build on. Couldn’t be happier with the service.”
“As a commercial and residential builder I’ve used HazWreck on multiple projects and they’ve been excellent throughout. They handled a complete strip-out of a house in Carlton for me, and most recently a commercial asbestos strip-out and demolition at Strathfield Plaza. Having one licensed contractor who can take care of asbestos, strip-outs and demolition across both my resi and commercial sites makes my life so much easier. Professional, reliable and clean every time — couldn’t recommend them more.”
“HazWreck were brought in to remove asbestos from the old Commonwealth Bank building on Victoria Road, Gladesville, which we were turning into a Plus Fitness. They ended up taking on the complete strip-out and demolition, and the standard of work blew me away. As the demolition crew, they handed the site back not just clear but genuinely immaculate — and then went a step further and pressure washed the entire exterior until it was spotless. You expect a demo crew to leave a mess; these guys left it cleaner than they found it. Licensed, professional and they take real pride in their work. If you need asbestos removal, strip-out or demolition in Sydney, look no further.”
“Baris & the HazWreck team are true professionals! They act with high integrity, provide great service, turn up on time and are genuinely a great team to deal with!!”
“From start to finish, they were professional, they notified all the right parties, and handled all the paperwork.”

Good questions
Yes. In NSW, removing more than 10 square metres of bonded asbestos legally requires a licensed Class B asbestos removalist. HazWreck holds SafeWork NSW Class B Licence AD214755 and removes bonded, non-friable asbestos compliantly across Sydney, with disposal dockets provided on every job.
It depends on the material, access and volume. As a guide: asbestos fence removal starts from $1,500, and roof removal or strip-outs from $2,500. All prices are indicative and confirmed after a site inspection. Every HazWreck quote is fixed and itemised, including containment and lawful disposal.
A Form 65 is the notification a licensed removalist lodges with SafeWork NSW before carrying out notifiable asbestos work. For Class B (bonded) work it requires a minimum of five working days’ notice. HazWreck lodges the Form 65 for you where the job requires it, once your deposit is received.
Bonded (non-friable) asbestos in good, undisturbed condition is generally low-risk. The danger begins when it’s drilled, cut, broken or sanded and fibres become airborne — which is why renovation, storm damage and demolition are the high-risk moments. If in doubt, don’t disturb it; book a licensed assessment.
If your property was built or renovated before the late 1980s, assume asbestos may be present in roofing, eaves, fences, wall sheeting or wet areas. You can’t confirm it by sight alone — only testing or a licensed assessment is definitive. HazWreck can assess from photos or an on-site visit.
Class B covers bonded (non-friable) asbestos — solid sheeting, fences and roofing — which is HazWreck’s licensed specialty. Class A covers friable asbestos that can crumble by hand and needs a separate licence. If we find friable material, we stop, advise you, and never work outside our Class B licence.
All asbestos waste is double-wrapped, labelled and transported to an EPA-licensed disposal facility. HazWreck provides disposal dockets on completion, giving you a documented compliance record for councils, insurers and future property sales.
HazWreck offers fast response across Sydney and can often assess and quote within 24–48 hours. Timing on the works themselves depends on Form 65 notice periods (minimum five working days for Class B) and your site. Call 0418 882 285 for a fast, fixed quote.
