Careers at HazWreck — Asbestos Removal & Demolition Jobs, Sydney
HazWreck is a licensed asbestos removal and demolition contractor based in Homebush, working Sydney-wide. We run hazardous material removal and demolition under one roof — for builders, developers, strata, government and homeowners. We’re growing, and we’re always keen to hear from reliable, ticketed people who want steady work with a crew that does things properly.
The HazWreck Standard
Safety, Compliance, Reliability — First
At HazWreck, safety, compliance and reliability come first. We work in environments where shortcuts put people, projects and licences at risk — so we don’t take them. We’re looking for people who show up, follow procedures, respect the team, and take pride in doing the job properly. If that sounds like you, we’d like to hear from you.
Built by builders
We Understand Construction Because We’ve Lived It
HazWreck was founded by Baris Kopuz, a licensed builder with more than 15 years of construction experience. We’ve worked across everything from residential renovations to commercial strip-outs, hazardous material removal and specialist demolition. We understand construction because we’ve lived it — and that shapes how we run every site and every crew.
The work
What You’ll Actually Be Working On
No two HazWreck sites are the same. Depending on your role and experience, you could be working on:
- Commercial strip-outs and office make-good works
- Gym de-fits and refurbishments
- Bonded asbestos roof removal and hazardous material removal
- Bathroom and kitchen demolition
- Government and commercial projects
- Hoarding and deceased estate clean-outs
- Structural and non-structural demolition
It’s hands-on, varied work across Sydney — not the same job in the same spot every day.
Who fits
Who Succeeds at HazWreck
We’re not looking for passengers. Our best team members:
- Turn up on time
- Follow directions
- Work safely
- Respect clients and co-workers
- Take pride in their work
- Want to learn new skills
- Understand that safety paperwork is part of the job
If you’re reliable and willing to learn, we’ll invest in you. If you’re looking for shortcuts, HazWreck probably isn’t the right fit.
Safety isn’t optional
We Take It as Seriously as You Should
HazWreck operates as a SafeWork NSW licensed Class B asbestos removal contractor (licence AD214755), under strict regulatory and site-specific safety systems. Our crews work with:
- SWMS (Safe Work Method Statements)
- Site inductions
- PPE and respiratory protection
- Air monitoring where required
- Waste tracking and disposal documentation
- SafeWork-compliant asbestos removal procedures
If safety isn’t important to you, we’re probably not the right company. If it is, you’ll be working alongside people who take it as seriously as you do.

Our reputation matters
The People We Hire Shape Our Reputation
A lot of our work comes from repeat builders, project managers and commercial clients — because we turn up and do it right. We expect every team member to represent HazWreck professionally on site. The people we hire directly shape our reputation, which is exactly why we’re selective about who joins.
